Goldie is the go-to source for architects, interior designers and design enthusiasts seeking affordable, quality and custom interior furnishings, finishes and accessories. Goldie was founded by Tama Moore and Kate Thorpe, industry veterans with an unrivalled network of artisan suppliers and manufacturers from around the world.
The concept of Goldie was born from Tama and Kate’s shared experiences in events and interior design - they were frustrated that unique products were hard to come by, and when they were available, either too expensive or of poor quality. The duo believes that great design should be accessible to everyone, regardless of budgets and locations.
Working predominantly with commercial and large-scale residential projects, Goldie is centred around the premise of ‘design with no limits’ - anything that can be imagined, can be delivered. Premium. Beautiful. Unique. Fairly priced.

Meet Kate
Kate Thorpe heads the operations of Goldie, a role she’s well prepared for after spending a decade deep in international logistics, travelling the world running corporate global events for American Express. During these trips, Kate would often find herself scouting out back street markets and discovering treasures to transport home. After she returned to live in New Zealand to work in marketing, the travel - and the scouting - continued. On one trip to Bali, she was connected with an agent who offered to send some products to New Zealand for her. Kate’s commercial experience, coupled with her network of producers and suppliers all over, led her to develop this relationship into a business and she soon launched Williams Road, an online boutique selling handcrafted furniture and homewares. After collaborating with Tama on a commercial project, the duo joined forces and skillsets and Goldie was born.
Meet Tama
For over 20 years, Tama Moore has been a prolific interior designer in both New Zealand and abroad. After graduating with a BFA in Fine Art and Design in NZ, she started in an architecture firm before moving to Australia and later Dubai, where she set up and led the interiors for Buchan Group. She later launched and ran the interiors for global American architecture group, Callison RTKL in Dubai, where she worked on projects across Melbourne, Sydney, London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Lebanon and Riyadh, including some of the largest shopping malls in the world. After a move back to New Zealand, Tama started her own studio in 2017 working predominantly on commercial and community projects including her own whanau marae redevelopment, local community centre and permaculture gardens in Whananaki Northland. For Tama, Goldie is an opportunity for personal, close relationships - with clients, with makers, and with the design detail.
HOW WE WORK …
We’ve spent years developing a network of production houses and artisans, with whom we’ve crafted a unique design and manufacturing process. We’ve reduced elements like time, material waste and unnecessary middle agents (yes to that!), which has brought important sustainable practices into play. We adopt fair pricing practices that ensure our wonderful makers’ skills are respected and our customers receive beautiful, hand-crafted products made with love and care.
We have a collaborative approach to working with our clients, often functioning like an in-house sourcing and design team that lies within their architecture or interior practices. Our technical and conceptual experience allows us to work efficiently alongside and within these studios.
We’re constantly in awe of our talented makers and our business ethos is centred on building on those trusted personal relationships and sharing that same genuine and easy approach with our clients. We’re always just a phone call, email or site visit away.
